FAQ's

What is the main aim IAAHA is pursuing through accrediting schools?
Our aim is to contribute to the dissemination of Ayurveda, by promoting a standardised training curriculum thereby giving students a greater insight on what they will learn on a course based on Vedic philosophy. The aim is to professionalise trainings and make this visible to the public.

What is the background of the trainers teaching with an accredited school?
While most of the teachers will be practicing therapists some teachers will also be Spiritual Teachers and be more inclined to pass on teachings based Hinduism. However, they have all been trained in the modalities they are seeking accreditation for.

How can you ensure that the quality of the trainings provided is satisfactorily?
The teachers providing their training with an accredited institution have to further proof of their experience and knowledge, however, we can only assess their knowledge in their chosen teaching subject, not their performance as teachers.

Who decides on which schools can be granted accreditation?
The decision lies with the director of the trust and the advisory members.

Why have you chosen this constitution for promoting trainings?
We have chosen this constitution for promoting trainings because we wanted to help individuals, who have expertise in a “therapeutic art” or in-depth knowledge of ancient philosophies and scriptures to be recognised as such and be given a chance to pass on their knowledge in a way that improves their professional status and makes it visible to potential students.

I am a student of an accredited institution and I have some questions regarding the training standards etc, whom shall I address myself to?
As you will understand the IAAHA does not have the resources to answer individual questions of students, however, the teachers who are providing accredited trainings will be able to answer your questions so please e-mail the accredited training providers directly.

I have sought accreditation with your association but I am still awaiting an answer, whom can I contact?
Please be patient, we answer all accreditation requests and as long as it is visible to the general public that you do comply with our standards and you have furthered proof of the training and experience of the teachers of your institution we will be able to accredit your training.

Do you also accredit individual trainings and teachers?`
Yes, you do not need to work for a school or institution, however, the same rules apply you must comply with the training standards and further proof of the training you have undergone and the experience you have aquired.
